LaJenns
LaJenns was birthed by a union between a deep appreciation for fine fabrics and a love for an era of elegance and timeless charm. Mary Coxwell, owner and creator, has always enjoyed sewing and designing beautiful children's clothing. In fact, her heritage includes generations of highly skilled seamstresses, a fact that is clearly seen in the fine craftsmanship of her unique line of vintage dresses.
Many a pleasant day passed for Mary and her mother, creating dresses for her daughters, LaShane and Jennifer. As they grew up, Mary still found much pleasure and satisfaction in creating heirloom dresses. Having owned a fabric store for over 10 years, Mary had discovered an array of exquisite materials to create one of a kind clothing. Much of her inspiration for color combinations has come from her love for flower gardening at her home in beautiful South Alabama.
After many years of sharing her designs with the fine citizens of Clarke County, Mary decided in 1992 to take a collection of classic clothing to a children’s show. It was there that Mary's dreams and prayers became a reality. A rep of the Dallas Apparel Mart wanted to show the collection at Market. Tears began to flow as Mary realized that the goals she had set for herself years ago were being achieved!
Not only was Mary's line a success in Dallas, LaJenns is also represented by a God-sent rep, Stokes For Kids, at the Atlanta Apparel Mart. LaJenns can now be found in over 600 children’s' specialty shops nationwide.
Mary's many styles are created with the finest textiles and embellished with delicate French lace, ribbons, and beading. After the arrival of four grandsons, Mary has expanded her collection to include delightful boy’s outfits to match every dress. Much to Mary's delight her daugter Jennifer now helps with the design process and birthed the fun and exciting casual line thats the buzz at every market!
LaJenns- clothing that can be worn now, but treasured forever!
